who do we follow? thelawdsway
Welcome to the first M.H.C.I post of 2026. I wanted to discuss about choices.
Sometimes you do the right thing, and it doesn’t work out. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth doing.
Doing the right thing doesn’t always produce the rewards you desired. Sometimes you will still be in that position of needing to figure things out as the outcome wasn’t what you wanted.
This is totally fine.
Our wants aren’t always what we need. Sometimes we need to make life choices that puts our needs first before our wants. It may be hard to make sense of it in the moment but know that such decision will have been worth you deciding to follow through with in the long term.
TV Show: On My Block
You may know the hit Netflix TV show called On My Block (one of THE BEST shows I have ever watched!). I just finished recently binge watching the whole show and I think it resonates with what I plan to speak about in this episode.
Now without giving any spoilers, there is this one character in the show who had the best character development if you ask me. So much so that it hit hard when it got to that episode where I saw the play out of the outcome of the character’s life that came to be. It hit hard because although they had a rocky start at the beginning of the show, they made the right choices, turned their life around and got back on track.
They were so close to being free.
Free from Freeridge and the troubles that came with it.
Though they made the choice to stay back and help someone they were fond of to become free as well. An act of nobility, showing the true meaning of what it means to be a 'ride or die,' though such decision altered the outcome of the character’s life to shift from the path they were on in turning their life around.
Such choice changed the outcome of their life story.
It's crazy how life can drastically alter in the change of what one second or one choice can make. That's why it's so important to make choices wisely. We need to have a set plan, look at all the options and outcomes such choice may make and carefully decide which route we would like to take.
Every choice has a consequence.
Such consequence can positively and/or negatively influence the outcome of our lives. It has the capacity to either break us or strengthen us. It has the capability to help us progress or be rendered still.
Every choice we make matters, and everything happens for a reason from the choice we thought best to make. It may be a present choice but that doesn't mean it won't be ineffective to a future situation that may arise.
Make choices with a sound mind.
Decisions made in anger only grows bitterness. It feeds to a negative influence over your life. A sound mind puts you in an environment where you're thinking clearly and focused on the task at hand. So whatever choice you make in that moment has been made wisely with careful consideration.
Be careful with the choices you make in life.
Choices: will it be part of your uprise or the reason for your downfall?
Hosea 14:9 "Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them.”
Remember, Trust in the Lord, Love like the Lord and Walk with the Lord. TLW
