Welcome to thelawdsway, otherwise known as the tag name TLW:

Trust in the Lord, Love like the Lord, Walk with the Lord

thelawdsway is a platform created to build and grow our relationship in God through poetry, written pieces, short stories, music, videography and blogs. Follow along the journey to be encouraged in developing a stronger relationship with Christ, starting your relationship with Christ and progressing yourself and life story in Christ’s image.

I am a Christian born and raised but it was not until the year 2020 where I started to build my personal relationship with God and developed my own understanding of God for myself. Since then, I have been growing my relationship with God and strengthening my discipleship and discipline in Him. Don’t get me wrong, I have made mistakes, I am still learning but that is the beauty of it all knowing I have the capacity to keep on learning and furthering my relationship with God and enhancing my faith in Him. With that said, thelawdsway is a safe place to follow to feel motivated to grow your relationship with God, without judgement but through confidence.

How Did thelawdsway Come About?

You may know me formerly as wealthbooks, but to start all the way back to the beginning, I started off as melaninmade, solely writing acrostic poetry. Below through the images you’ll see how it started (1), how it once was (2-4) and how it is now (5).

Expression was the very first acrostic poetry I ever wrote back in 2020 which created everything I made so far till now. I have always viewed poetry to be a form a music, influenced by the artists that are Eminem, Wretch 32, Big Sean, J Cole, and Kendrick Lamar. Although I now only listen to Christian artists/music, I cannot go without saying that studying the way these artists created their songs, it did have an impact on the form and structure in how I create my creative pieces of work. Expression was made during my time as melaninmade and is now placed under my poetry collection MADE. MADE alongside with MOJO are my two poetry collections under The M Series. Each collection consists of 26 alphabetical poems that all, in its own way, relates to the meaning of life and how our outlook on life can affect the determination and progression we are able to make to get to where we want and need to be in life. MOJO has a more specific relation to musical instruments. The M Series, will one day be published, but at that point in time, it made me reflect on exactly what I wanted my purpose to be through my creative platform.

Then comes wealthbooks with the tagline: hello world, wealthbooks here! Wealth came from my name, Olubusola, meaning God has given you wealth. My viewpoint on wealth is not on monetary gains but wealth of the mind. When you know who you are, where you want to go and who you want to be: that is your wealth. You have the tools you need to be equipped for anything that can come your way in life. Books hold the words of wisdom. What you read and the meaning you gain from the theme of the book will always be instilled in your mind. Books give you knowledge, it expands your mind to understand great depths of information about any aspect of life. Through my time as wealthbooks I created my 5 poetry collections between the year 2021-2022: COMMON, 10, GENRE, SOUL SEARCHING and UNBEKNOWNST. I also owned a podcast first of a secular scope back in 2023 and then secondly more so of a Christian and faith based scope in the second third of 2024 but it wasn’t my time to own a podcast and it was discontinued. However, it was in this period where I got the courage to start a blog known as wealthbooksblog where I discussed about faith, analysed film/tv shows I had watched, celebrated Black History Month and had a mental health check in (M.H.C.I) between every 5-6 blogs posted.

Between May-October 2024, I was slacking in posting blogs, primarily because I was balancing work and my LLM at the same time, but also deep down I kept hearing this voice that wealthbooks was not the end goal. It wasn’t until 11:05pm on the 28th August 2024, I was at home in my living room reflecting on wealthbooks and had been talking to God for some time during that late evening and I heard a voice from God saying ‘wealthbooks isn’t the end, the final product, the final purpose.’ I was not in disagreement whatsoever. To be honest, during that time of May-October 2024, I had been wanting to transition to a more so faith-based creative platform but I didn’t know how to. I knew I no longer wanted to be known as wealthbooks as it was, to me, becoming a generic term, I wanted it to be more personal, more in line with what God had in store for me and not what I wanted for myself.

Between the 29th August to the 05th September 2024 I would have late nights thinking and visioning what God’s plan was for wealthbooks and how He was planning for me to turn it around in His image. I knew that I still wanted wealth to still be incorporated in the name as that is what personified me.

Then comes 9:48pm on the 6th September 2024 and the creation of thelawdsway:

thelaw: unmixed spells out wealth, keeping the personification of me in the name.

lawd: a connotative way to speak of the Lord

way: God is the Way, Truth and Life.

The Bible Verse that God showed me to be the foundation of this platform comes from James 4:11. I read from the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) version which states:

[11] Don’t criticise one another, brothers and sisters. Anyone who defames or judges a fellow believer defames and judges the law. If you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

The primary focus of thelawdsway is to be a platform where we feel motivated and motivate others to grow our relationship with God, without judgement but through confidence. We are building ourselves and each other to become more Christlike as each day passes, to live a life in tune of God’s law (the Holy Bible).

thelawdsway was intentionally created, even down to the colours used for each section of the website:

Blush (logo background): blush is biblically viewed as ‘Shame’ but the lack thereof it- direct reference to Jerimiah 6:15 and Jeremiah 8:12. We live in a world where people no longer feel a sense of shame as they used to in that everything secular and sinful is the ‘new norm.’
Cream (writing in logo): cream is biblically viewed as ‘Contradictions’- direct reference to Psalms 55:21. What we say vs what we do, how we feel vs how we act contradict how we yearn to live a life like God but such yearning is founded on such ideology where we think we can do so in a secular perspective.
Maroon and Red (buttons and line dividers): maroon and red are biblically viewed as ‘Sacrifice’- direct reference to John 1:29. Jesus is the Lamb of God; He is who takes away the sins of the world without judgement. He delivers and redeems us.
Blue (blog section): blue is biblically viewed as ‘The Word of God’- direct reference to Exodus 24:10. In this passage, Moses saw beneath God’s feet a pavement of lapis lazuli as clear as the sky itself which had occurred shortly before Moses received The Ten Commandments.
Salt (portfolio section): salt is biblically viewed as ‘Enhancement’- direct reference to Matthew 5:13. We as the Children of God must spread God’s vision on earth; to uplift, encourage, motivate and glorify God on earth for all to see and know.
Green (artistry section): green is biblically viewed as ‘Prosperity’- direct reference to Jeremiah 17:8. We are planted as Children of the Most High on earth and so we will grow, flourish and prosper in all that we have been created to be according to His Will.
Gold [specifically Guernsey] (featured writers section): gold is biblically viewed as ‘Wisdom’- direct reference to Proverbs 3:14. Acquiring wisdom and understanding by God is greater than earthly riches like silver or gold.

Everything relating to thelawdsway was God-led and I am grateful that it is now published for you all to see.

Final Words

Whether I was melaninmade, wealthbooks or thelawdsway, the purpose of my platform has always been to remind individuals of:

The power they hold in their hands to change the narrative of their life.
The importance of believing in themselves and persevering.
The understanding of knowing when to take time off for themselves.
The value of knowing their self-worth, especially in environments where others seek to control their lives and indoctrinate their minds to make them feel less than.

Now, I get to do it at an advanced level where we focus at all times on the Creator behind every part of our life story: GOD!
