We’re a couple days into the second month of 2026! I hope you all had an amazing time celebrating new year’s and I hope that the goals you have planned to fulfil in 2026 are already in progress.

I wanted to talk about the concept of ‘pushing new narratives’ and what it means to work on the power of you.

Let’s start with understanding the meaning of these three words. So, ‘pushing’ means to compel or having the urge to do something, especially to work hard. ‘New’ can be defined as something already existing but it has been seen, experienced, or acquired recently or now for the first time. Amongst being a spoken or written account of connected events, a ‘narrative’ is a representation of a particular situation or process in such a way as to reflect or conform to an overarching set of aims and values.

Pacing fast to fulfil your dream may not always be a good thing- you could easily lose sight of the reason that dream was born in the first place. Doesn’t it sound so much easier to say this statement and confirm it into your life theoretically instead of putting it into action? However, remember that no one said it was going to be easy and if they said that or something made you believe that wholeheartedly then that person or thing may have been telling you a lie.

Now I'm coming from a place where you may or may not have been battling with an issue that's been eating away at you, or maybe you’re just tired of being in the place you are now. You see your mind fuels the direction in the way your life will go in and become. It's your body that's going to take you from point A so you can get to point B. It's the words you speak over your life and your behaviour that you show to yourself and others that will affect the level of success that you can get to. You see the common theme here: it's YOU.

Pushing a new narrative over your life starts from you.

Pushing a new narrative over your life for the better and being consistent with it depends on you.

Like I already said, obtaining and attaining this new narrative won’t be easy and to be honest I don’t expect it to be. Don’t misinterpret this statement to be me wishing on your downfall, I wouldn’t wish that for anybody! But life can be hard. It can be stressful. It’s normal to have moments when you feel like giving up. However, we have got to remember that life won’t always be positive, but trust me, it’ll always be real. And I know you may be laughing at me like duh we already knew that. But did we? I mean can you honestly nod your head as you read this, picturing us talking about this in a face-to-face conversation and tell me that you have never once wished for a different life? Where you’ve let your mind write a different narrative to your life story- one where you saw the person you truly believed to be the real you, but you decided to leave that narrative up there in your mind as a fantasy.

What’s stopping you from making that fantasised narrative to become your reality?

Who’s stopping you?

What’s limiting you to progress into that new narrative and stay there, remembering that you’re staying there to continuously level up and improve this narrative and not just staying there to settle into the basic level that got you there in the first place?

Who’s limiting you?

What’s preventing you to stand up to your own mind and challenge the negative thoughts that live there to break the cycle of feeling that you’ll never be or become enough, when in all honesty you can be enough and more but what is required of you is that you need to break those thoughts down, reinvent this better and new narrative and enforce it into your life so you can start to become it?

Who’s preventing you?

Now I don’t know what you may have been going through, but if you’ve been wanting a change or needing the push to start the change you need in your life to build this narrative you have been dreaming about for a long time, let my words today be that change for you.

I have a poem called Process, it’s part of my poetry collection 10 viewable under the Portfolio section of my website. The first two lines of the poem when you read/or hear it states:

'Change comes when you change yourself, so how can you deny yourself of this freedom?'

Getting that new narrative, you’ve been longing for to speak over your life comes from you. Don’t deny yourself of the power to break into the life you’ve always seen yourself to be truly experiencing. Make that change, push that new narrative, interpret, apply, and implement it into your life story.

You may fall but you better get yourself back up!

Getting back up on your two feet doesn’t need to happen straight away after you’ve fallen. Sometimes the driving force that you always needed to get into that new narrative may come from your fallen place. If you need to spend more time in that place that’s fine, find the freedom in your process of healing and when you feel that the time is right, that the time is now, get back up and push into your new narrative.

You can do it.

I know you can.

You know you can.

So go and push.

Isaiah 40:29 He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.
