The Achievement Process

In this post, we’re going to look into the aspects of the process towards achievement through the topics of knowledgeable intimacy and outgrowing your horizons.

KNOWLEDGEABLE INTIMACY

ree

Knowledgeable intimacy is the trait of having a very good understanding of someone and/or something. It shows the ability of you understanding, to great depths, the layers of an individual or a concept. When I think of knowledgeable intimacy, to me, it is acquiring the knowledge of having control over your life and once we understand the power we attain, we will be wise in how we use it, intimate in how we protect it. I have one quote for this topic that I hope you can take away with you:

“Don’t wait to see what type of day it is going to be, determine what type of day it is going to be.”

We don’t wait for things to happen; we go after it. We don’t wait to see how external factors may affect a situation; we take control of the situation and minimise any foreseeable or unforeseeable damages that may arise from it. We don’t depend on another person’s idea for how we should do something; we create an idea ourselves. We don’t blend in; we stand out. We don’t shy away; we speak out. We do not conform; we stay true to ourselves. We don’t; rather we do.

Knowledgeable intimacy is a trait of being so sure of who we are within ourselves, having both emotional and thoughtful intelligence that we trust ourselves in the decisions we make to see things through. We have the ability to determine how things will be because we have set a standard for ourselves to achieve and won’t settle for less. We have a personal, intimate understanding of who we are as an individual for our boundaries, limits, and comfort zones but we also have a personal, intimate understanding of our goals that are beyond the box we reside in, the space we think in, and we go after it. Such boundaries, limits and comfort zones are in place more so to control the relationships we have with third parties and not ourselves. For our own personal relationships, they do not dictate the extent we can get to but where we go from. When we understand this trait of ours, we understand how to use it effectively for our greater good.

Knowledgeable intimacy is something we should all seek to have for ourselves within ourselves. To have such an in-depth understanding and surety of who we are as a person, whereby nothing could ever break the light that shines within us.

OUTGROWING YOUR HORIZONS

ree

Outgrowing your horizons. This is the characteristic trait of being flexible, determined and growth. When I say flexible, I don’t mean it from the stance of being walked over and putting others first above you. I mean from the stance where with the life plan you have outlined for yourself; does it have a backup plan in case things do not go how you structured it to be? Life is a unique experience, we don’t know what will come or how things may turn out in the end, so when something does go wrong, be flexible in having quick and applicable long-term solutions to pick yourself back up.

TV Show: Utopia Falls

There is a TV show called Utopia Falls on Amazon which is an absolutely amazing show. Right now, there is only one season, I’m praying for a season 2 to come out soon. Anyways, the synopsis of this show was that it was set in the future where 24 teenagers chosen from the last living colony were to compete in The Exemplar competition. This competition is the only way, for a teenager in the colony to write their names in history. I won’t give any spoilers of explaining the show in more depth in case you want to go and watch it yourself. However, I did want to explain the perception I got from the show and the backgrounds of these teenagers. You see, the people in this last living colony were separated in factions that were decided for them. They lived their lives following the same non-progressive routine, just taking what they were given. Each of the main characters had an amazing life story and, as a collective, they found a bunker that showed the secrets from the past life. It showed all categories of life: music, education, cooking, labour jobs, family, medicine, politics, government, each country and its culture and traditions. It also showed the downfall of the world and how it ended because of war, hunger, poverty, and segregation. It reflected on the downfalls but more so on what made the Earth who it was. Us. The people- we made Earth how it was. What we did and the time we spent on the Earth added to its history.

TV Show: Analogy

Two quotes from episode one:

“Time is the greatest thief because it is always stealing the past: first the details, then the memories to all we have left are the distant echoes of what was.”

AND

“Ambition gives rise to technology that often eases in comfort.”

Our determination in life, backed with the time we had to achieve what we needed to achieve was measured on how we lived in our past. Our past livelihoods became what is in our present and what will be in our future. It said time was the greatest thief, but it can only be a thief if we allow it to be over our lives. Being flexible with our time in how we utilise it can ensure that our time spent is not time lost. We live in a very advanced modernised world and the technology we have access to is technology we should use in our favour for a greater good. We add the use of technology to the notion of time it can and will cause us to be ambitious in becoming who we desire to become.

A quote from episode three:

“Performance is power, and it comes with great responsibilities.”

The ability to outgrow our horizons depends on the performance we embody in our everyday lives. Performance not meaning the façade we may try and live through the media but meaning the reality of our circumstances and the actions we perform to help us to grow into better environments. Though as the quote says, our performance comes with great responsibilities. We need to be responsible in how we perform, how we allow our performance to reflect the perception we showcase to ourselves and others. We need to be diligent in our performance and know what is right for us that will help us in our growth and seeking greater things for our lives.

A quote from episode eight:

“Find happiness in who you are instead of who you think you should be.”

Thrive in who you are right now to get to where you want to be. Achieve all you desire right now to set yourself up for your future dreams. Be at peace with who you are right now so you will be at peace with who you will be in the future. Happiness in your true self is a precious gift. When you have found your true happiness, don’t exchange it for fantasised joy, or take it for granted, or abuse it. Use it, maximise it to the full, take care of it. That same happiness will be the push to help you grow and outgrow into newer horizons, levelling you up.

A quote from episode nine:

“Don't hold back and speak out- that's how you get things done.”

You can’t outgrow the horizon you are currently in if you don’t seek change and courage. These are two other important traits for you to obtain within your character. Now in me saying this, of course, we should be mindful in the times when we speak out ensuring that when we do, it will not be the first chain of causation towards our downfall. Be aware of your horizon and what is going on. When the time feels right, that is when you should speak up and speak out. That is when you should act on what has been outspoken and move forward. That’s how you get things done and grow out into a better horizon.

A quote from episode ten, the last episode from season one of the show:

“A lack of independence equals reliance.”

Not everyone you currently live life with will be ready to outgrow the horizon right now, and sometimes it’s the case where they don’t want to outgrow the horizon, because they have been reliant in the safety net that it provides. Just because they don’t want to outgrow, that shouldn’t stop you from progressing and moving higher. It may be scary doing it on your own, but independence is character building. Independence is the chance to afflict greater change in your life on your own terms. Don’t wait for other people and their time to outgrow, go in your own time. If the time is now, go. Don’t rely on the safety nets of your original horizon as, whilst it will always provide certainty, it won’t always provide progression and new opportunities.

I feel like everything talked about in this topic was all over the place but that is just life! Especially in the season in which you are seeking and planning for change or something new, everything may feel jumbled up. But if you acquire those traits of flexibility, determination, growth, happiness, courage, confidence, persistence and independence, everything will fall into place just as it was planned to be.

BIBLICAL REFERENCE

Philemon 1:6 CSB I pray that your participation in the faith may become effective through knowing every good thing that is in us for the glory of Christ.

We know of the common phrase ‘walk by faith, not by sight.’ Such phrase seeks the acknowledgement of us to totally give our life to Christ and become Spirit-led over every aspect of our lives. It stands for us to build that personal, intimate relationship with God to expand our knowledge of the world and how we are to navigate life in this world, as well as inflicting upon us the requirement to let God lead and entrust in Him our lives so that we can grow and expand out of the human limited horizons we placed before ourselves to enter into the Christ enriched limitless horizons He purposed for our lives.

Remember, Trust in the Lord, Love like the Lord and Walk with the Lord. TLW
