Matthew 6:34 | Ecclesiastes 3:12
There are 4 days left till 2026.
I thought to share two Bible verses that has helped me a lot throughout this year and which I know will continue to guide me in 2026. I believe when we get into the final stages of a year, a lot starts to happen as we prepare to leave behind the old and welcome the new. To me, these two verses are guides into how we are to overcome and encounter situations that may arise in life.
I hope they are as helpful to you as they have been to me.
MATTHEW 6:34 NKJV
“Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."
God hears your prayers and answers them according to His will.
If God answers prayers the way you wanted, one time you will regret it. God may have shut the door you were wanting Him to open but God has a better door for you that you needed Him to open. There are some things you cannot fix by yourself and if you truly serve the Lord you need to let it go, forget about it, move on, and let God fix it for you.
God’s design for you was right as He created you exactly for it.
Now reread the above statement for the second time before you continue. It is all easier said than done to apply this perception into our lives, but it is the right perception that we should all have. We’re all human and sometimes our emotions can get the best of us. In the sudden moment of a situation, our initial reaction may be that of anger, fear, or anxiety. The worry of entering a new chapter in life overrides the excitement because we are now to create a new norm for us in this new chapter.
But we have God. We have Him to turn to.
We have Him to cast all our worries away to Him and let Him replace our worries with peace. We have God so we don’t have to worry about what tomorrow will bring because He has a plan for us.
We have God.
He’s literally our friend in need, our safe refuge, our comforter, our hiding place. Where we start to feel worried on our uncertainty for the future on what tomorrow will bring, even on what we are facing in this moment right now, turn to God and remember His message that we needn’t to worry when He is on our side. We needn’t to worry about tomorrow because He has already got it all figured out. We needn’t to worry and just focus on our present. God is working- He always is even and especially when it doesn’t feel like it.
So don’t worry, everything will work out just as you desired, and God willed it to be.
ECCLESIASTES 3:12 NKJV
“I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives.”
Welcome to the good life: living according to Jesus’s message, embodying the fruit of the spirit, and receiving daily blessings.
Welcome to the good life: rejoicing for every woken second of the day, thanking God for His provisions and ways.
Welcome to the good life: where joy is our basis of hope, love, and grace. We can achieve all we have desired to achieve because we have God backing us in all that we do and say.
We thrive when we are living through the promises of God. We thrive when we do good to others. We thrive when we give without the underlying hope to get something back in return. We thrive as children of God and because He lives in us nothing can break us. There is truly nothing better than living a life full of joy. Better for our mental, emotional, physical, and social health. Better for our personal, professional, and academic development. Better for the progression of our wisdom, knowledge, understanding.
Better full stop.
“Lord, I thank you, I thank you for what you have done in my life. I thank you for what you are doing in my life. I thank you for what you will do in my life. I thank you for the mistakes and lessons. I thank you for the setbacks. I thank you for the opened doors, even for the closed ones. I thank you for it all. I rejoice because life is good now, it’s better than what it was, and it is setting me up greater for what is to come.”
Rejoice, proclaim all God has done, pray for what you still need and want Him to do and thank Him because He has already made it so.
That’s it.
