Matthew 17:20 | Romans 8:31
In this post, we're going to be discussing about the topic of watering your seeds.
BIBLICAL CONTEXT
Before we go any further in discussing this topic, let's read the words from Matthew 17:20 NKJV:
'So, Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Message
To me, the transition between September/October is a very important transition that many of us may go through. For some, it can be the sign of a new academic year, the start of your contract for a new role, the end of studies, the beginning of a gap year and so forth.
In seasons of change, whether that be the beginning or end of something, it comes with trials. Trials that are here to test and break us and surround us with nothing but barriers, problems, and challenges. It can and will be hard to navigate the process at times, and the feeling of giving up may be inevitable. With everything that may be going on, the ability to focus may decrease and faith may disappear. Whilst it's easier said than done, I urge you to keep going and keep watering your seeds.
Seed by definition: the unit of reproduction, the cause or beginning of a feeling, process, or condition that can cause something to begin to develop or grow.
Seed in this context: your goals, ambitions, and dreams.
I started this post with the verse from Matthew, assuming we are all aware of the well-known phrase: 'faith the size of a mustard seed.' If you are unaware, this phrase is confirmation of the fact that you don't need to embody a ginormous amount of faith to see goals, ambitions and dreams through. If you can develop the faith as small as the size of a mustard seed, then nothing will be impossible for you to achieve. This faith is something that cannot be brought, tokened, or exchanged. It can only be developed, and the development of the faith must grow from within.
So, how can you water your seed? It can be done by a number of things, including:
Living in Faith
Living in Gratitude
Living in Peace
Living in Joy
Living in Love
Living in Patience
Living in Understanding
Faith and gratitude must be worked and used together to achieve a great outcome, one that you may not have even expected to occur. Your gratitude reflects the attitude that you possess within your character in how you perceive and receive things. In doing so, it also affects the level of peace, joy, and love that lives within you and the environment you are in. If you lack in those three things, you lack in patience and understanding because they feed off of your ability to provide and receive peace, joy and love. So, having an attitude of gratitude matters. It not only matters in the affect it can cast on your outlook on life but also in how you live your life.
Whatever that may come in life, whatever you may be going through, whatever the barriers, problems, and challenges: keep watering your seeds. Do not give up. Keep going. Even if you only have 1% of a fight left in you, use that 1% and keep going. That 1% of perseverance and faith has the power to change your life around. 1% may seem so small in quantity against the 99% that's telling you to give up, but the quality that you reside in that 1% because you kept moving in faith, has the ability to take over the 99% of doubt that's trying to grow within you. See that 1% as the size of the mustard seed and in time, as you reap the rewards of your labour, you'll realise that no mountain, no stopping block, no issue, or situation can stop you from achieving your goals, ambitions, and dreams.
Remain in faith and if it is not already done, get in tune and remain in God. He will back you with that 1% left in you and help you to exceed your expectations, take the ordinary to extraordinary and make the impossible possible.
Romans 8:31 NKJV - what, then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
As we are about to enter this new transition and change, I pray it be a positive and greater change, setting you up and progressing you further to where, whose, what and whom you were made and called to be.
Remember, Trust in the Lord, Love like the Lord and Walk with the Lord. TLW
